We need volunteers to help with the Fly-in. Please plan to attend the May 10th chapter meeting to sign up.

Bud Warren's LS1/Geared Drives PSRU firewall forward package for the RV-10 is nearing completion for presentation at Sun n Fun Airshow in Lakeland, Florida April 8-13, 2008. (recent photos attached) This package includes custom wiring harness, custom programmed ECM, engine mount for RV-10, fiberglass blister kit to modify the stock RV-10 cowlings, and much more.

Bud will be running this engine/PSRU package complete with prop and governor at Sun n Fun on a test stand which will be located at the engine demo area.  Attendees will be able to watch as the unit operates while at low engine RPMs, increase RPMs on up to idle, at cruise and takeoff RPMs, and watch as the prop is cycled right before your eyes.  Of course, the PSRU has its own oil pump which constantly force lubricates all the PSRU components, the propeller and the prop governor with 60 PSI.  The incredible smoothness of operation and the sound is really something to witness.

Did I mention that you can use ANY prop you want with this PSRU?

Bud will be speaking at the auto engine forums as well, and his booth can be found in the outside North exhibits area, in booth #52, near where he was located last year.
For more information on the Forum schedule, log on to http://www.Sun-n-Fun.org. It may take a bit longer for the Forum Schedules to post on their website.

See you at Lakeland!

Just another Saturday at CXO.

Our members are busy Designing, Building, Restoring and in some case Repairing..... Did some one say there was a Hawker on the downwind or a Hawk.... (RV 1 vs. Hawk 0) First class engineering and a rugged design proved too much for one hawk who became air kill. But not before entering the leading edge of the wing for onboard storage. Who would have thought to add bird storage to an RV? Floats, Ski's, but down here in Texas we take bringing home dinner to new heights. (pun intended)

If you are interested in wood, metal or glass construction we have a member who has been there and done that. Come join us at our next meeting or just stop in and have a look around the open hangers for folks who are just plane crazy!
